LOVE PACKAGE FROM JEN! :D
FOTD: PASSPORT LOOK
PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: EYEKO FAT BALM FOR THE LIPS AND CHEEKS IN STRAWBERRY
Here's an initial review on EYEKO FAT BALM FOR THE LIPS AND CHEEKS IN STRAWBERRY
PRICE: 5 Euros (?)
PLACE BOUGHT: FROM A SWAP
OTHER LOCATIONS: EYEKO.COM
THE VERDICT:
I've been wanting to try this line because I've read so many good reviews on the brand, especially their fat balms.
I was so fortunate enough to know that sis Jen is willing to swap her Eyeko fat balm in Strawberry with my MAC Powder Blush in Raizin. :D THANKS SIS JEN! :D
Okay, this manga- inspired make- up is really cute. Packaging- wise. I'm so loving the colorful box! I actually kept it cos it's too cute to throw away!
As you can see, it's so compact and the tube is, well, fat, thus the name FAT BALM. But it's compact nature makes it easy to slip in my make- up kit.
Check the actual product. It has slight silver and gold shimmers in it. I like it because it helps my lips catch light. Besides, the glitters don't really show on your lips and cheeks, which I like.
Okay, So this strawberry- scented balm gives your lips a hint of red tinge with a slight sheen. It's also moisturizing and the staying power is good as well.
I tried this product on my cheeks and much to my amazement, it gives a lovely glow to my cheeks! The glow looks so natural and the staying power is great! It's a bit sticky on the cheeks when applied but it dries off to a rosy finish once it settles on your cheeks! A swipe does my cheeks some justice already because the color pay- off is good as well. :D
Overall, I love this product. It's compact and it does deliver amazing results because of how it paid off on my cheeks. Now I'm lemming for more Eyeko products! Too bad, I'm an ignoramus when it comes to ordering online. :C
PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT" BENEFIT BENETINT
Here's an initial review on BENEFIT BENETINT
PRICE: 1800PHP+
PLACE BOUGHT: FROM A SWAP
OTHER LOCATIONS: EBAY.COM; MULTIPLY.COM RESELLERS
THE VERDICT:
I also got this from a swap with sis Jen (Thanks again sis!) along with the Eyeko Fat Balm.
I decided to get this because I wanna know what the hype on Benetint is all about.
What I love about this product is it smelled of roses. I also love rose- scented stuff so that's a point for this product. Another, it doesn't have an awful taste, like other lip and cheek tints so that's another point for this product.
Well, I hate to rain on the Benetint lovers' parade but this product is a total waste of money. Why did I say so?
First off, color pay- off is not amazing because I had to swipe the brush around 5- 8 times on my cheeks to get a nice color pay- off. Anything lesser than 5- 8 swipes. it's too sheer, and from afar, you can't tell that I'm wearing any cheek tint. I didn't even bother checking how long it will stay on my cheeks.
Secondly, IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE. I'd rather get Philosophy's The Supernatural Lip and Cheek tint at a much cheaper price, but it does deliver amazing results. I could also get the same effects from this cheap lip and cheek tint that you can purchase from the Mimi boutique (forgot the name). It delivers a great result, for only 150php.
Maybe this product will work well on fair skinned ladies because it has such a sheer color pay- off.
Good thing Benefit decided to come up with Posietint, a much better lip and cheek tint. Now that's my next purchase, since my mom decided to replace the Benetint with Posietint (She asked for the Benetint).
I suggest that Benefit should reformulate their Benetint product. I'd still use it, but I find Eyeko's Fat Balm better than Benetint.
PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT: KIEHL'S ULTRA FACIAL MOISTURIZER
Here's a follow up review on KIEHL'S ULTRA FACIAL MOISTURIZER 75ML
PRICE: 950PHP (FOR 75ML)
PLACE BOUGHT: KIEHL'S, GREENBELT 5, MAKATI CITY
THE VERDICT:
Okay, so this review is 2 weeks late already. It just slipped out of my mind, sorry for that, but at least that's more time for me to gauge how good or bad this product is.
Okay, So the consistency of this moisturizer is a semi- creamy liquid moisturizer. It is absorbed easily by the skin and a little goes a long way, thanks to it's consistency that covers a good amount of facial skin when it is spread evenly.
I remember the SA in Kiehl's telling me that this ain't a recommended product for people with oily to combination skin because it has oil extracts that can contribute to a more oily facial skin surface.
Well, I've been using an oil- controlling facial cleanser and toner, both from Kiehl's as well, and I have gauged that these two battle my oiliness so I didn't worry too much about what the SA told me. Besides, it's in the FOR ALL SKIN TYPES category so this can be used by people with normal to hypersensitive skin.
After 3 weeks of usage, I have noticed that my skin has become more supple, and it looks healthier on the outside, with a "lit from within glow". I just love that my facial skin has become more radiant. Another important thing, I didn't get breakouts from the Kiehl's line.
I've mentioned before that this moisturizer is the HG moisturizer of Mary Kate Olsen. Well, I see how her skin is optimally hydrated and nourished, based on her pictures. Maybe because of the moisturizer and some other facial stuff. But I can also see that my face has that healthy sheen (take note, not SHINE) right after application because it is absorbed easily and fast by the skin. It's not oily looking, as compared to other moisturizers that takes forever to dry and contributes somehow to the oiliness of my skin.
Overall, I'm loving this product, no regrets though it really is costly, but I'm sure the big bottle will last me long because a pea- sized amount can already cover my entire face!
