Hmm, bare chests and bare legs. It's not a very seasonally appropriate moodboard is it? Looking through some photos from Summer 2010 earlier I found myself pining after the sunshine so I can wander with my legs out, let the sun warm my hair a nice strawberry blonde and sleep with warm air coming through the window. Very premature wishes indeed given we're two weeks into January but I'm assuming they are the sublimal reasons behind these spring geared pictures. Clearly haven't quite let go of the winter though; this picture from The Sartorialist has heightened my need for some nice thick marl socks to wear with my clogs which I shall dig out of my cupboard before I return back to Manchester this week.

Tonight I've listened to Low by David Bowie about 4 times continuously. He is probably my favourite musician but because of his huge back catalogue of work there are still so many albums for me to discover. I grew up on Ziggy Stardust and Hunky Dory, but I've seriously fallen in love with Low, too. Completely different from the former two but very much suited to my current mood. Produced by Brian Eno and with a very Tilda Swinton-esque front cover.

feast your eyes on these snapshots of girlish, dreamy frolicking from margaret durow and annabel mehran. they cause me to crave autumn roadtrips (sitting with a lapful of blankets and the windows down), skinny dipping in a freezing lake, trudging through the woods until your fingers and cheeks are pink from the cold, picking flowers along the way to pop into a glass jar. and a big cosy bed to return to afterward for cups of tea and crosswords with a mate.

it's been a while..

and good luck my fellow A level students who come the morning shall be nervously gripping results envelopes. Hey, look at this way. If you tried, you'll do well. If you didn't, yeah, it sucks, but education shouldn't be a race, if you have a uni to get into and don't think it'll happen after seeing your results, go off and see some of the world. read some great books, meet some people to have late night and thought provoking conversations with and if you're really passionate about the course, it'll still be there for you on the other side.

this week's 'inspiration on a wednesday post' is a lovely collage that my gorgeous abby made for me. i know, i know, it's kind of cheating, using somebody else's work. but it's the coolest collage packed indeed with many things that both inspire me and make me blush in that best way possible. and besides, abby isn't just somebody else.

so here you are. now away you go, and do some potting of plants, arrange perfectly drooping flowers into glasses or jars, brew yourself a cuppa and sit dangling your legs over the side of the counter like lesley arfin while you drink it. and when you're done with that, reorganise your shoes!
