I'D LIKE TO SHOW YOU MY "RING"

Hi guys! How are your Saturdays? I'm here in Cebu, having the time of my life and hauling like crazy for Nyx items. Unfortunately, some of the items went out of stock yesterday. I'm just a day late! Oh well, at least I managed to save some money. :D

**Watch out for my Cebu pictures and for my Nyx hauls and reviews.

So here's my engagement ring, courtesy of my hubby, Mr. R.

Hubby and I were really planning to get ourselves a ring. Unfortunately, we broke up for 3 months due to our indifferences. It was always a gloomy day for me, and for him, according to him. We seldom talk via text messaging and I can't remember a time that he or I called each other on the phone. And if ever we're gonna talk, we'll just end up fighting.

I thought it was the end of it all. I thought that I just wasted my greatest gift. Just like that.

Well, I do believe TRUE love finds its way on it's own.

Then one day, we just found ourselves talking via text messaging again, calling each other often, seeing each other again, and having dinner then doing again the things a normal couple would do. I don't know what happened, but one thing's for certain. It just happened.

February 14, 2009, he knelt in front of me in Tiendesitas, Pasig and asked me "Will you be my girlfriend again?" I almost burst into tears and after a laugh with a sigh and with a huge smile, I said "Yes. I will be your girlfriend again!". He hugged me so tight and I couldn't help but cry. I know it seems sooo cheesy but during that moment, it just felt that it was the most natural thing that has ever happened to me. And I couldn't stop smiling whenever I remember this sweetest day of my life. :)

This time, we're sweeter, MUCH better and much open to each other's flaws and mistakes. We try our best to communicate and to just laugh things out.

Hubby and I just felt that when we got back together, it was the best time to buy a ring because the second chance that God gave us is the chance to become better individuals, more than becoming a better couple. So the ring is a sign of our renewal.

We actually gave this ring a purpose. Whenever we see this, we remember all that we've been through and that this ring is the reminder that nothing can ever keep us or tear us apart. It is the sole reminder of how beautiful we are as a couple and how more and more beautiful we will be if we remember to always remember how we fell in love with each other.

It's actually a stainless ring. We didn't really consider buying expensive rings. We're saving it for the actual marriage. :D

Whenever I see this on my hand, I miss him when we're not together and I instantly get flashbacks of happy memories.

So... What's with the face Martha?

SO THAT'S MY POST FOR TODAY. :D

**GEEZ... I MISS RANDY.... :D

**FOR THOSE WHO ARE ATTACHED/MARRIED/ENGAGED, HOW DID YOU RECEIVE/ GET YOUR SPECIAL ITEM LIKE THIS ONE? :D

TODAY'S HAUL+I'M HITTIN' THE BEACH TOMORROW! :D

So I'm bound for Cebu tomorrow. Mom and I decided to unwind, have a getaway from all the work and noise of the city. We were supposed to go to Hong Kong today but unfortunately, she didn't get to schedule the trip so we decided to hit the beach. We're staying in Hilton Hotel, Mactan, Cebu City.

So here's the make- up arsenal that I'll bring to my overnight trip:

MY BEAUTY STASH!

My haul for this week. :D

Nars Powder Blush in Madly

My new baby :D

I checked the following colors: Luster, Sertao, Lovejoy, Sin and Madly.

Just like what sis Lelila said, Madly fits morena girls. Well, she's right. :D

Sertao is too beige for me, it's like a bronzer already while Lovejoy is too pinkish- brown. Luster has a strong peach undertone while Zen is matte and quite flat- looking.

Madly is plain wonderful. It just looks natural yet enhanced prettily. It perfectly fits my lemming for a brown blush with a brown/ beige undertone. :D

**I'll review this in a while! :D

**Darn... I can't get enough of Nars blushes. Now I'm lemming for Crazed, Matahari and Luster. :p

TODAY'S MINI UPDATE

Hi guys, it's the celebration of Manuel L. Quezon's birthday so it's a holiday in the Q.C. area. I study in UP Diliman so I'm pretty much on a holiday. LOL. :D

Anyhoo, I had a great 10 hours of sleep. I woke up, had lunch, played with the pets, took a bath, changed my nail polish and went to Seattle's Best, Greenbelt 3 to do some stuff for school.

I changed my nail polish. I used my newly- bought Elianto Nail Polish in Novy. Isn't it gorgeous? :D

Coffee and Cigarettes, my pseudo- buddies. Keeps me going, gets me working. :D

That's it for my mini update! I'm still in Seattle's Greenbelt, about to order dinner and will start on my reports.

**Honestly, I told myself that I'll do my report once I get here but blogging really gets the best of me.

BUT I'M GONNA STUDY RIGHT AFTER EATING! AND THAT'S AN ORDER FOR MYSELF!

Have a great week guys! :D

I'M BACK!+A SUNDAY SUMMARY+LBC RANT

Hi guys! Finally, I'm back to my normal academic life and blogging. Honestly, doing theatre will sometimes take away your social life because you do nothing but rehearse, study, eat, and rest. There's hardly time for bumming around because every single day matters. Apart from that, you go to school during the day, and rehearsals run every night so you really can't spend the night doing stuff for tomorrow, especially assignments. Sometimes, I take my studies for granted because of rehearsals.

Although I still do my academic tasks, I am aware that all were mediocre, because I know I can still do best. But right now, I am sooo happy because I finally have all the time in the world to rest, relax and catch up with my studies because my play is finally over. By the time the next production comes, I'm very prepared and refreshed by then. :)

Our play ended yesterday with a 7pm show then we had a light salu- salo as our cast party before our mentor moves on to his next play and then leaves for the States because he teaches in the Notre Dame university.

Today, I woke up around lunch time because I went home at around 5am. After having lunch, I finally had the chance to get a foot spa and pedicure. My feet felt so refreshed and clean after 2 mos. of not getting a pedicure nor cutting my nails! (It's needed for the play) :D I went to the Henri Calayag salon in Greenbelt Residences to get my foot pampering session. I love the nice ambiance of the salon and the best part is, they offer free wifi. I also bought the Henri Calayag's brush set as one my hauls for this week (I'll review this in the next few posts).

I just have a mild rant about LBC. I was due to ship some items today but unfortunately, there are only a few shipping boutiques located in the glorietta area. I have to travel all the way to glorietta 3 from Greenbelt, which is quite a walk, to ship my stuff. Air21 is located in the ground floor of Rustans and LBC in the basement of Glorietta 3.

I was too tired to cross all the way to Rustans so I settled to ship via LBC. Besides, I have to travel all the way back to Greenbelt for the 6:30 P.M. mass. I shipped two packages bound for Valenzuela City and Las Pinas City. And guess what? my bill is at a whopping 275php. I was so shocked with the price because I thought it would only cost around 70php, like air21 since I'm shipping to NCR destinations only. I asked the clerk guy "BAKIT ANG MAHAL?" Clerk guy replied "YUN NA PO ANG STANDARD RATE EH. ITO PO YUNG BREAK DOWN NG RATES." He then handed me my receipts. I saw that I had to pay for the package insurance, vat, loading fee and tons of fees so the valenzuela package costed 145php and the Las Pinas package costed 130php. I only asked for 70php shipping fee from my two buyers so I had to add around 70php for ea. package. I wouldn't mind paying for a 10php extra charge but 140php is waaay too much.

I thought LBC  lowered their prices because 3 years ago, I shipped an item from Makati to Pasay and was so shocked to know that the delivery costed me 120php. After having experienced paying an exorbitant amount, I vowed to avoid shipping via LBC as much as possible. But I had no choice today but to ship via LBC. And my golly, they haven't changed.

Oh well, lesson learned. If you want to spend, you really have to exert extra effort in looking for the cheapest choice. I went up the first fl. of Glorietta 3 and stared at the mall entrance and saw the rear entrance of Rustans, where an air21 branch is located. I could've saved 140php if I crossed the street. That can still afford me a grande Iced White Chocolate Mocha w/ non- fat milk from Starbucks!

Btw, my mom, big bro and I ate in La Maison in Greenbelt 5 after hearing mass. It is a fine dining restaurant at the second fl. of gb5. We sat near the window and was glad because we're having a good view of the greenbelt area. We're very famished so we ordered quite a lot.

After having dinner in greenbelt, we went to ACT 632 (also in gb5) to check the store out. I was so curious about the Messy Bessy home line and got curious with the Messy Bessy Insect Repellant (which will be reviewed in the next few posts). Next, we headed to The Fort High Street because I was going to buy MUFE eyeshadows in #92 and #168. Unluckily, both colors are out of stock but I was glad because the kind and cheerful SA who attended to my aid is so kind to reserve to me the colors I wanted, which will arrive at around the 3rd week of august.

Btw, they have this limited edition set called THE BEST OF MAKE- UP FOREVER which includes travel sized samples of their HD Primer, Sens'eyes eye make- up remover and regular sizes of the HD Finishing Powder, Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Black and Smoky Lash Mascara in Black. The set costs 3500php and you'll get a 500php discount (forgot the conditions). You have to check it out because I was on the verge of buying the set because I'll be able to try MUFE's best- sellers and they all look so cute in the package! My mom was on the verge of buying the mini mufe make- up train case at 3500php which includes an HD Primer, mini HD Finishing Powder and another freebie which I forgot if you buy the train case. I just told myself, I have to save my money for the eyeshadows and good thing, my mom was able to control herself from buying the train case as well.

After that, we had coffee in Seattle's Best and went home, only to find out that my favorite guinea pig, Vincent, died. :'(. Rest in peace my sweet piggy.

So there goes my day. How was your Sunday? What were your hauls, adventures and trips? :)

RESTAURANT HOPPING: LA MAISON

My mom, big bro and I ate in La Maison in Greenbelt 5 after hearing mass. It is a fine dining restaurant at the second fl. of gb5. We sat near the window and was glad because we're having a good view of the greenbelt area. We're very famished so we ordered quite a lot. Here's a list of what we ordered:

MOM:

APPLE AND TUNA SALAD

BIG BRO:

FILET MIGNON 250GMS WITH LA MAISON RICE

OYSTER PLATE

ICED TEA

MOI:

FILET MIGNON 250GMS WITH MIXED VEGETABLES

WILD SHITAKE MUSHROOM SOUP

THE VERDICT:

I love steak and was glad because I was able to enjoy my steak meal. It was juicy, yummy and easy to chew. The vegetables were also good and I love the fried potato shoestrings that served as a base for the slab of meat. The only thing that didn't seem right were my asparagus sticks. In the menu, it stated that it will come with bacon strips but when my order came, It was only plain asparagus that served as a garnish atop the steak. But it didn't bother me that much since I'm on a diet and bacon is not part of my diet. If there's one thing worth trying here, it's the Wild Shitake Mushroom Soup. It's cream- based, has a dash of cayenne and topped with croutons. The serving is quite big so one bowl can serve 1- 2 persons. I love that it's loaded with shitake mushrooms! (self- confessed fungi lover :D)

Place- wise, I like the overall lighting and design of the place. Not too bright, not too dark. The interior is classic, dominated with warm colors such as white, black, brown and dark red. I also appreciate ambiance music but I really hate it when the song that's currently playing has lyrics, which I think is not kinda' right for a fine dining resto. I'd rather have classical or instrumental of popular oldies but goodies songs playing in the background. Worst part is, it's pop- ish and the song is like a christian song of some sort. And another bummer, the volume is kinda' loud.

Price range: 180- 1500php

I have to admit that this is really and expensive restaurant (and it's a fine dining resto). I'd like to conclude that it's a must- try, but not something to rave about. I wouldn't mind not being able to eat here for 2- 3 mos. Their food is really good, but not stellar. I could settle for Burgoo, which is a cheaper place for steak and grilled food. But hey, if they lower their prices, why not? :D

ARE YOU READY TO GET HUNGRY? THEN SCROLL DOWN.... :P

FREE GARLIC BREAD! :D

WILD SHITAKE SOUP (MUST- TRY)

ICED TEA! :P

APPLE AND TUNA SALAD

OYSTER PLATE

MY STEAK MEAL! :D

OOHH...CAN'T WAIT TO FINISH EVERYTHING! :D

UPCOMING PRODUCTS+MINI UPDATE

Hi guys! I've been MIA for the past few days. Honestly, I have nothing to post except for random stuff and going- ons in my life. I have upcoming products by the way. So that means reviews, eotds and fotds galore for you, my lovelies. :) I am also trying out cheap products for the benefit of saving moolah and for our budget beauties out there. :)

Hmm..mini update. Well, I just sold some of my MAC, Anna Sui and Kryolan stuff. I just realized that I wasn't using them that much so I decided to sell 'em and replace 'em with these. I also realized that these were the stuff that I really need and I seriously have to be a smart buyer. I'm done with my medication of my "Impulse Shopping Disorder" :D I just have to be smart because once I want something, I have to buy it instead of waiting for the time and chance to visit other make- up counters! :/

Here's a run down of the stuff that I'll be reviewing for y'all in the next few days. I'm just waiting for them to come to my hands. :)

I JUST TURNED TWO WITH MR. R :D

YESTERDAY, HUBBY AND I JUST TURNED TWO YEARS. WE FIRST BECAME A COUPLE AROUND 2007, BROKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF 2008 AND NOW, 2009, WE'RE HAPPIER THAN EVER.

HE PICKED ME UP ON JULY 6 BECAUSE WE VOWED TO BE TOGETHER ONCE JULY 7 HITS THE CALENDAR. WE HAD A GOOD DINNER, THEN WE HAD COFFEE IN STARBUCKS.

APPARENTLY, STARBUCKS RELEASED TONS OF BLUE TUMBLERS. I'M SUCH A SUCKER FOR BLUE STUFF SO I INSTANTLY FELL INLOVE WITH THE LOVELY TUMBLERS. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY'RE COSTLY.

HUBBY SAW ME CRAVING SO MUCH FOR A BLUE TUMBLER SO HE REACHED FOR ONE AND PAID FOR IT.

I WAS SOOOOO HAPPY. HE HANDED THE PAPER BAG TO ME AND SAID "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!" :)

WE WENT HOME AROUND 3 A.M., WHICH MEANS LACK OF SLEEP BECAUSE WE HAVE TO WAKE UP EARLY BECAUSE WE'LL HAVE OUR ANNIVERSARY LUNCH TOMORROW.

TADAAA! HERE'S THE LOVELY TUMBLER. I LOVE MY BABY SOOO MUCH! :)

HE PICKED ME UP AROUND 10: 30 A.M. THE FOLLOWING DAY AND WE HAD A SUPER BUFFET LUNCH IN SEVEN CORNERS IN CROWN PLAZA, ORTIGAS.

I'M TELLING YOU, THEY HAVE THE BEST FOOD EVER! IT'S SMALL, UNLIKE SOFITEL'S. BUT YOU WON'T FEEL BAD NOT BEING ABLE TO TRY EVERYTHING BECAUSE THE SIZE OF THE BUFFET IS JUST RIGHT. THE PRICE IS 1200PHP PER HEAD. IT'S JUST WORTH THE BUFFET SO IF EVER YOU WANT TO SPEND A SPECIAL DAY WITH ANYONE, TRY SEVEN CORNERS. :)

I JUST LAVISHED MYSELF WITH RIB EYE STEAK, GRILLED LAMB, BIRYANI RICE, PAPADOMS, ROTI CHANAI BREADS, BRIE CHEESE, POPPY SEED BREADS AND A WHOLE LOT OF CREME BRULEE, CAKES, ICE CREAM AND ICED TEA! :D

SORRY, I WASN'T ABLE TO TAKE A PIC OF THE WHOLE BUFFET BECAUSE I WAS TOO LAZY TO TAKE PICS BECAUSE I'M SOO FOCUSED ON EATING HAHA :P

I LOVE YOU BUBU! HOPE YOU LIKE THIS ENTRY GUYS! :)

MY ATTEMPT ON A POLLOCK- STYLE ARTWORK :)

Hi girls! I'd like to share this piece of artwork that I made last night. It was for a project in my MATH1 class and I was assigned to the the base for the magic squares.

I am such a fan of Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein and everything pop art so I decided to Pollock-ize the base. Jackson Pollock propagated the paint splatter effect on the canvass years ago. It was so unique, this style always entails his name, "Let's do it, Pollock Style". :)

You think it's easy at first, all you'll need are paint brushes and you go splattering on some paint. You have to put texture by trying to build or cake some paint on some parts or else, your work will look flat. And of course, intention is the best way to create an artwork. I had "happiness" in mind when I was doing this so I think it showed on my work. :)

It's hard as well because you have to clean the stuff with paint splatters. Or else, my mom will kill me for splattering paint on her antique cabinet. Haha.

Check out the texture. It paid- off as a thick gunk of paint on the canvass because I just used plain paint without water. I dipped the flat brush, made sure there were lots of paint on it, and splattered it on the canvass. Talk about paint waste. :)

Here is the part where I mixed water with paint and it created a watercolor effect

I wish I could bring this home. But my group mates will put magic squares on it when I bring it on Wednesday. Too bad. They might cover up the whole design. Haha. Oh well, I'll just make one again. ;)
