Jordan Becomes an IT Girl

Katie Price unveils her own brand of iPods
From: Andy

Check this out. It says 'techie yet practical'.

This is exactly what the IT gays have been waiting for, the collision of of tech & tat. Next up will be Girls Aloud being shot around the Large Hadron Collider.

I thought it was the Sugarbabes getting loaded with Froyo; or maybe that's Katie Price as well.

Why We Need "Jedward"

Irony. Such a lost art. Derided as a Gen X hipster accessory, the term has become almost obsolete, so much so that its definition has imploded. A bit ironic in itself, dontcha think? Thankfully where Ms. Morrisette failed to point the semantic finger, we have the Irish Xfactor hybrid Jedward. The pointy hair, the loud PVC suits, unwittingly likening their distinct lack of vocal talent to a brakeless bike. In a synthetic pop world filled with PR-styled soundbytes, Jedward are the antidote, the anti-heroes and ironically (albeit packaged by Louis Walsh) anti-manufactured. Let's face it, there's only one of them! Heck, if they bomb in the charts, they've always got a career in fashion - maybe with Jean Charles de Castelbajac? I'm thinking David Bowie 'Let's Dance' circa 1983 meets Vanilla Ice 1991. Us fashionistas love our irony. You've got a home with us Jedward.

Pat Butcher - Style Icon

Dangly earrings, bitchin' furs and uber fierce coral lippie. It can only be one woman. That's right. Pat Butcher is rapdily puffing her way through fashion's rank and file with the strength of a 2-sugar builder's cuppa. She's the bitch with kitsch and we love her. Sure, Marc Jacobs and Balmain may have you believing SS09's 'new eclectic' is just that but it's roots are in Walford, love. So, if you're looking for some sartorial edge, best rock it East End style. G&T and fag ash optional.

Fashion Gaydar

I can't take credit for this one. This piece of priceless reality TV gossip comes directly from my one of my gay best friends.

Andrew sent you a message.

Subject: Makes Project Runway Look Butch

Well throw out your back catalogue DVDs of America's Next Top Model, delete Project Runway from your Tivo, we have a new reality show on the block - Blush:Search for the Next Great Make Up Artist. Loving the fact the tasks are designed to test the compassion and confidence of contestants; makes the other shows look like they belong on Men and Motors :)

On a slightly less serious note, when are we doing Xmas drinks?

Phil Mitchell Hearts Hakkasan

I was in London yesterday for a super press day courtesy of Asos.com. Not only did we journos get a sneaky peek at the SS09 collection (more deets anon!) but they kindly treated us to a lovely dim sum lunch at Hakkasan. On my way out to the front desk to get my coat, I heard someone ask for a menu. I turned around to see Eastenders' Phil Mitchell beside me. As I casually buttoned up, he asked the maitre d' if he could make a booking. 'For how many?' she asked; at which point I was tempted to chime in 'It's for faaaamily Phil, innit?' Luckily I resisted the urge to get headbutted. I'm sure the poor bloke has heard that line umpteen times...and he looked a bit cross. Still glad I was in the presence of East End lore...even if it was in the West End.

Poll Results - Sex Beats Shopping

Who would have thought? People would rather give up flexing retail muscle for flexing another..ehm...muscle. I would've bet my boring cotton undies to the contrary. I'm all for swinging from the chandeliers but surely the hedonistic thrill of buying a pair of Louey B's tops that of a good shag - if only for consistency. Any time I need a pick me up, I just look at my feet. And I'm not obliged to make them eggs.

Fashion Gaydar

I love my gays. Without them I wouldn't have emails like this to brighten an otherwise inclement blah Tuesday morning. This comes courtesy of my GBFF Neil to whom I am indebted for razor-sharp sartorial insight and Allegra Versace on speed dial. Have a read:

NEIL: "Hey Ams, You may have already seen this. It's my favourite picture of the week from the fashion wires and I thought iblogfashion needed to be alerted. It's from the visit of Carla Sarkozy to the UN last week. Looking ever elegant in her Dior suit, she is being subjected to an awfully fierce case of "the evils" from Chantal Biya, the fantastically glamorous first lady of Cameroon. Am sensing Chantal's amazement at how anyone could truck up to the UN like Carla has here without so much as a lick of make-up or having spent at least an hour of vigorous back-combing."

Genius! Lovin' your work Neil. Stay fabulous! xxxx
