Who says cheap brands have no quality? It's just a matter of finding their best product. Take this as an example: Maybelline is still the brand to beat because of their excellent mascaras. They have lipsticks, powders, foundations, eyeshadows, blushes, etc. but they probably have the best formulation for mascaras in the market.
I have scoured every beauty product in the Philippines and came up with a list of my top 5 fave products from our local make- up brands:
EVER BILENA EYELINER PENCIL- Though they have an infamous reputation for imitating MAC and Victoria's secret, their eyeliner pencil is still the product to beat. For 70php, this eyeliner so far is at par with the expensive ones. It's long lasting and doesn't smudge easily. It withstands heat and sweat so I don't have to re- apply this during the day. Come night time, my brows are still neat, black and bushy- looking!
G-LISH ROUND EYESHADOW PALETTES- Patrick Rosas, a famous make- up artist designs and chooses the colors for the products of this brand. Great packaging and is comparable to Pop beauty cosmetics. Their eyeshadow palette is a modern take from the usual big palettes that contain individual eyeshadow pots. It's a round compact and it consists of colors in strips to create different looks for day and night. Compact and cheap. Pigmentation is good for everyday and stays put for hours.
HERBENCH PRETTY WHEN PINCHED LIQUID BLUSH- Their lip and cheek stain has evolved from gel to liquid. And it comes in a cuter and exquisite- looking packaging. This product lasts long and the violet colored stain disappears into a natural looking flush on your cheeks and lips. A must- have for recessionista beauty junkies!
PMAX FACE POWDER- Pmax is a brand under Nichido. Their line is somehow Inspired by fairies and butterflies. Their face powder is definitely a good buy. It has a butterfly engraving on the powder, which makes it cute. Think of this: the base is your powder shade and the butterfly engraving is in pink, yellow and white to accentuate your shade by adding a pinkish flush to your overall face canvass. The staying powder is good and it doesn't appear cakey.
EVER BILENA EYESHADOW- Their eyeshadows have good pigmentation also, especially the palette of 4 eyeshadows. The colors are good and you'll love how they mix and match their palettes because they totally complement each other.
If you wanna check out these brands, go ahead and give them a try. I might have missed some items that they carry that are good in quality also. it's not always a matter of MAC, Lancome, Guerlain, Kryolan, etc. to make a product become good and excellent. It's a matter of research and finding the right product from their line. :)
