Maison Martin Margiela '20'- The Exhibition

Font size

This summer, Somerset House will play host to Maison Martin Margiela ’20’ The Exhibition - celebrating 20 years of one of contemporary fashion’s most influential and conceptual designers.

Conceived in close collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela and curated by the Mode Museum, Antwerp, theshow makes its London debut where it will be specially reconfigured for the Embankment Galleries, following critical acclaim at the MoMu, Antwerp and Haus der Kunst, Munich last year. Expect a multi-layered presentation incorporating installations, photography, video and film - an aproach which lends itself to a visual examination of the deconstructivist and subversive themes which underpin the essence of the avant-garde fashion house. Various iconic pieces from both the women and menswear collections will be on display, such as the highly replicated ‘Tabi’ boots, as well as specially recreated garments for the exhibition. Too good to miss - as are the limited edition items on sale for the duration of the exhibition. Be there...
